Someone on here advised me to go see a doctor immidiately cuz my eyes were yellowish, and I might have a hypotisis or something. So I went and got my blood checked. I paid $500.00 to the doctor. The results didn't show nothing, but she did say that that doesn't mean that my liver was healthy and that in fact I needed to do often check ups every other 2 months, and if I didn't, it could be life threatening. The treatment would basically be for the rest of my life and it would be expensive as well. So I called my mom, she told me to go see this other doctor she trusts. I went to see him and he said that there was nothing wrong with my liver at all, that my eyes simply had a differnt color from other people. The first doctor was simply trying to make money off of me. Our friend had to take whole bunch of tablets from the doctors because she had hypotisis, and it didn't work and doctors couldn't do anything but charge her more money. My mom gave her aloe juce to drink, and she was healed.

Bella, get your brain checked or else you're gonna die of being stupid!

okay, some people don't get the point of my post. I had two results and they both said there was nothing wrong with my liver, accept the first doctor was still trying to get as much money as possilbe out of me. And they always do that. One doctor lied to my sister that she had a cancer, and took a ton of tests for like a year long! And in the end it happened that there was no cancer, that it was a mistake! Thankfully she had insurance. But even so, she never was offered any treatments, just tests after tests after tests....

Solly, my health is worth all the money, but only when there is actually something to treat. That is the point of my post. You never know if the doctors are lying to you about your health stage!

Consider alternative treatments. You may have to read up on each supplement and decide if it is right for you, but I have found that alternative treatments worked much better than the $1,200 worth of prescription medicines I was taking every month. The medicines also did more harm to my body than good. At least alternative treatments aid in healing and, if taken right, will actually help the body to heal itself.

"or else you're gonna die of being stupid!" tee hee hee hee ... I liked that one.
I hate doctors. With the exception of one, none has ever helped me. I broke my ankle in like eight different places in high school, but an orthopedic surgeon (who, I found out later from my mom, said I may never walk again) put it all back together. It's about six years later and both ankles are, well, touchy, I guess, but unless I do something like trip or twist them they don't give me much trouble. (Side note - he was cool, too - when I asked if I'd be ok for the next semester of phys ed, he said yes, but I'll write you an excuse for the entire year anyways - I had no more phys ed in high school!!)
But back to the point... I had an experience that basically highlights and represents all the other experiences I've had.
Once I went to the ER for something I had already researched on my own and couldn't find the treatment for. The doctor there didn't know what the condition was and when I said its name he said 'yeah that's it.' Real confidence builder. He told me to take benadryl because the antihistamine was supposed to fix the bad reaction I was having to a different med. It didn't work. Big surprise. I wasted money on that, too.
I learned that unless I need surgery, I'll try a million things to do it myself before I pay a doctor who may have graduated with a 'C' average.
You're lucky your mom has a doctor she trusts. That's something I certainly wouldn't take for granted, and you should use it to. Well, after you ask your mom. Moms know everything (sometimes).

People might be confused because you don't actually have a question in all your post. But I'll come along for the rant. *s*

Okay, this may sound stupid but what is hypotisis? I've never heard of it. Second of all, $500 - to the doc? To the lab? Both? That's a rather steep price regardless. Thirdly, to seek medical advice on here is definitely not the brightest thing to do. You are likely not going to run across any sort of medical professional rather, you'll get people who think they konw what they are talking about without the credentials to back i t up. Not good, especially when it comes to one's health, money or anything along those lines.

So the score is 1:1, making the odds of you having a terminal illness at 50%. I suggest you get a 3rd opinion.

Or not. It truly may not be worth the money.

I agree with you they do charge a lot of money that a lot of people can't afford. There's a lot of doctors out there that just want to drain you of all your money, and do nothing for you in the long run.

I dont think the doctor was trying to exploit you, she just had a different diagnosis. If s/he were trying to exploit you it woulld be because they were gonna fire em for something unless they brought in alot of money. the conspiracy theory is kinda farfetched and paranoid but maybe im just farfetched and paranoid. but if your better than whats the big deal? In the words of Bobby Mcferrin "Dont worry, be happy!"

Well, you probably shouldn't be coming to yahoo answers for medical advice.

I wouldn't imagine too many m.d.'s are roaming around here looking to offer free medical diagnosis.
