I don't know if they enjoy being on a harness, but they can be trained to walk on one. When I moved overseas with my seventeen year old cat, I had a twelve hour car drive to face on arrival at the airport and I knew I would be needing to stop for toilet breaks. I didn't want to risk allowing my cat outside in a strange area, so I bought a harness and lead about one month before the move so that I could get her used to it. Much to my surprise she quickly learned to walk on it.

If your cat is an indoor cat and the only way that you would feel comfortable allowing them outside is on a harness and lead then give it a try. Who cares what other people think, if you and the cat are happy then it's no-one else's business.

It depends on what you do when the harness is on.
Most cats will be fine- until they realise that you are putting a harness on them. If you are planning to put the harness on to walk them outside, be near outside so they will realise soon what you are doing.
Once the cat is outside they will probably be excited and enjoy- not to mention forget all about the harness. It may be hard to get them back inside.

If you are going to put the harness on and stay inside, the cat will probably hate it, plus there is really no point in doing that anyway.

If you are planning to use the harness alot, try a cheap collar on the cat for a few days to see how it reacts to it, and to let it get used to having something on, before you buy the harness.

definitely, you need to use the two, whether physique harnesses particularly for cats are strongly cautioned. A collar places stress on the throat, on a similar time as a physique harness spreads stress around the shoulders and chest if a cat pulls against the leash. Harness and/or leash training takes time and staying power, and there are a number of step-by means of-step tutorials to be found on the internet.

i think that if the cat was introduced to the harness as a kitten then yeah, it would be enjoyable for them. it would be kind of difficult to get an adult cat to like it if they've never been in one before.

No, they hate it and are scared to death. Plus, don't be fooled, they are not safely attached to it, even with the special cat harnesses. I tried to do that with my cat, and I thought he was tightly and safely tied up, but then he smelled something and panicked, and with an agile movement he got loose and ran away. Than God we cought him again before he got out in the street. Plus they will not walk around with the harness, they don't follow like the dogs, you would have to pull him, it's really nit fun for them. they prefer to stay at home, honestly. My cat hides when he realizes we are leaving, because he is afraid we may take him with us (we travel a lot with him), and he wants to stay at home.

Most o the time no. Cats are fiercly independent and do not like to be controlled.

Most cats will just roll around in the harness and try to wiggle it off.

Have you ever tried it? I tried with one of my cats and it didn't work very well. She just kinda slunk around in it and wouldn't move. Cats are pretty difficult to walk. They're independent and wanna do what they wanna do. If you really want to walk something, get a dog.

No! Cats are born to be free and independent. You DO NOT walk a cat on a leash.
