Scratch the pills, honey. Just take care of it. Gettin' a perm might be the best choice. Wash it every few days, cuz washing it everyday will damage your hair. If you don't want a perm, just grease it up or hot comb it to keep it looking good. wrap it up at night. You can use pantyhose, or anything that your hair can breathe thru. I take care of my own hair just like that everyday. I don't wear fake hair. I don't need it, and it's unattractive, anyway.

I am a black woman also and I have found that using the Motions Line of Beauty products tends to be the best as far as black hair goes. Also while you have your braids in you wanna make sure that you are sleeping on a satin Pillow case and/or using a silk or satin scarf to tie your hair up. The cottony weave of regular pillow cases or bandannas actually catch the stray hairs and break your hair off. (The Satin Pillow case is also good for that Sexy night w/ your boo when you've got work in the morning but don't want to tie up your hair or worry about what it will look like in the Morning ;) )

To strengthen your hair during this transitional period you are going to want to start doing conditioning treatments at least every 2 weeks. When you wash and then condition, comb the conditioner all the way through your hair then put a shower cap on and sit under a dryer for 15 minutes. If you don't have this type of dryer then just let it air dry for 30 minutes with a shower cap on then rinse. This process will give your hair the nutrients that is needs to stengthen itself and then ultimately add length.

These techniques should get your Hair healthy and growing in no time. Hope This Helps!!!

I'm growing my hair and these are the products I use and the methods I do.
Drink lots of water and exercise
If u do take a pill, take Hair, Skin and Nails and/or Nouishair from GNC. Both products contain Bioton, MSM, and silica which help with the growth of your hair.
Massage your hair every night for 10 minutes before you go bed. This will help stimualte your scalp and open your pores in your head, therefore making hair come out (growing not breaking or going bald).
Before you go to bed, wrap your hair in a silk or satin scarf and/or sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase. This will help keep moisture in your hair and stop breakage. If you sleep on a cotton pillowcase or some other form of fabric, when you wake up, look at your pillowcase. You might some of your hair on it. That's breakage.
I use Wild Growth Hair Oil three times a week. On those nights, that what I massage into my scalp before going to bed. It contains coconut and olive oil which are very good hair growth stimualtes. It's very good and all natural.
Use the least amount of heat as you can on your hair. The only time heat is put to my head is when I deep condition it or hot oil treat it (sitting under the dryer with a shower cap on) or when I go to the salon and they put heat to it. I wash my hair once a week and when I do, I just let air dry. I keep my hair wrapped and I like how it lays my hair, so I don't worry about curling it or flat ironing it or anything.
This one is a must: KEEP YOUR ENDS TRIMMED. There's a reason I'm growing my hair out. I had to cut it. It was just below my shoudler blades, now it's above my neck. Why, u ask? Because I didn't keep up with my trims. My hair was damaged and when I was getting it trimmed, there wasn't enough being cut off. So the splits ending up traveling up my hair shaft. All the damage as to be gone, if you want to see any length with your hair. If your damage is that bad, CUT IT OFF! Now, that I've gotten rid of that, I get my ends trimmed once a month. Once I start to see growth and improvement to my hair, I'll go to every 6 weeks and keep that up.
I used to use Dr. Miracle's but it broke my hair off and that's wear that cut came into play. I'll say it pretty much showed me just how damaged my hair was. So that's the one good thing that came out of it. Now, I use Profectiv. They just came out with a Mega Growth line, mainly for growing hair. I plan to use that for a few months then I'm switching to Mane 'n Tail to see what it does. Whatever products you do use, try your best to make everything for the same company. Your hair will appreciate you for it. Also, don't use too much whereas it will cause build-up. That'll clog your pores therefore your hair won't be able to grow. Do like, maybe, a 2 week trial period with the products so you could figure out what to use on what day of the week. That's what I had to do with the Profectiv products because they have so many. I've come up with a regime now. Oh, and try to condition and hot oil treat your hair at least twice a month. This will help with keeping your hair healthy, which means your'll be growing healthy hair and it won't be as damaged. Ok, I think this is long enough. HTH!!!

i keep on telling u black girls on hair to use oils!!! italian women us olive oil indian girls use counut oil and even latino girls!!
the grease u all us is bad and clogs up pores. use natural cocunut oil and massageit in ur scalp every nite
You can apply the coconut oil all over your hair before you go to bed and let it soak in overnight and then wash it off in the morning. Or you can massage a little bit of the coconut oil onto your scalp, massage it for about a minute and you don't have to wash this off because its only a little bit. I would say try the soaking thing at night 1 or 2 times a month. However if you would like to apply only a little bit of the oil onto your scalp, I would say 2-3 times a week, depending on you. For example, I massage the coconut oil onto my scalp and a little bit on to the ends of my hair, which is not a lot by the way, and I then brush it so it can go to every strand (I don't wash it off). I do the soaking overnight thing about once a month (and this, I do wash it off in the morning or after a couple of hours). Whether you will leave it on overnight or just apply a little bit onto the scalp, make sure you massage it in, the massaging really helps. I hope I didn't confuse you all. If anyone needs more info just reply back and I will answer it the best I can!

the only pills you should be taking is vitamins unless you have a cold first off. While your wearing braids try Doo-Gro Anti Itching oil it's works well treating the scalp and hair at the same time totally natural ingredients. Also the applicator makes it easy to apply to the scalp and hair.

Yeah don't take any pills! Go the healthy route by using less heat on your hair. You can try products such as Olive Oil Moisturizing growth lotion, Shea butter and African's best super gro. The hair mayonnaise I think could be good too. Try also eating a lot of fruits, veggies and drink a lot of water. Keep your ends from getting damaged or tangled, trim them occasionally.

Protein scientific care, warm oil scientific care works like a charm and don't use shampoos with alcohol, its no longer good for black peoples hair, study the labels maximum shampoos made for white people have it so get ones from black hair shops, and clip your hair ends. additionally permit it air dry some circumstances do no longer use too lots warmth, constantly use leave in conditioner when you wash it. and that i trust the guy above ten inches isn't functional in 2 months.

Listen to these folks...and just remember to keep your hair conditioned and use a little oil... stay away from too many heat products like curling irons and blow drying...every once in a while is okay but not everyday.

Stress also plays a role in hair growth...it can cause breakage and thinning...so try to have that inner peace.

Or you can just accept your hair the way it is.
