I have a question well i guess it is advice or opinion.. My finacee is getting me this beautiful engagement ring. It is 3/4 karat of a diamond and it is marquis cut with 2 on each side. Well the problem is that when I looked at wedding bands there was a gap between the 2 rings. I checked into a wrap but the way the 2 diamonds are on each side a wrap would not look right nor would it probaly fit.. I may have to get my bad customed made and I really don;t want to do that because I am worried that if the diamond fell out of the ring that the regular wedding band could not be worn without the engagement ring. Has anybody has this problem before or does anybody have any suggestion??? I am just worried that it would not look right..

I got my engagement ring separate from my wedding ring. I went to my usual jeweler (got the ring from his regular jeweler) and had them make a band that matched. It has the same type of diamonds (baguettes) on the side and the white gold bar between the diamonds like the engagement ring. My problem was I was afraid the band would hit the round diamond in the middle. The jeweler made me a beautiful ring that matches my engagement ring, and it doesn't hit the diamond at all. I had them soldered together and there is a tiny gap between them, but that is normal. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem. My jeweler told me that no ring is going to be perfectly flush with another, unless they were made together. You can:

Get the setting of the engagement ring (or whichever ring has a higher setting) cut so that the wedding ring fits into it. This weakens the setting, but you get that "together" look.

Or, having two rings rubbing against each other constantly will make them mold into each other over time. This is normal wear and tear, and will happen whether or not you get your setting cut. It will take time, but just leaving it to nature will eventually give you that flush look you're going for.

Personally, I'm going to get the wedding ring I want, it looks great with my engagement ring as is, despite the "gap" and I'm going to let nature take its course....

My bands were not a "set" and there was a small gap. No big deal at all. Get the custom ring if you want it. If your diamond falls out of your engagement ring, you'll get it repaired, right?

Hey, I'm leaving my cheating husband so you can have my engagement ring (1.75 karat ) and band (1 karat). Both are a size 6. Problem solved!

Promise jewelry are no longer comparable to engagement jewelry. A promise ring is a ring promising to stay genuine to a minimum of one yet another. there remains no promise of marrying with a promise ring. An engagement ring is a ring that symbolized that the two human beings conform to get married and plan a marriage interior the close to destiny

Many good jewelers can fuse wedding bands and engagement rings together. It just takes some extra metal.

Just use your engagement ring as your wedding band. No reason not to.

When you're ready to get your wedding ring, go to the jeweler's and they can get something for you that would work with your engagement ring.

You will probably just have to live with it. Unless you look for another wedding band.

Once you are married have both rings fused together, no gap anymore.
