My boyfriends cooking me dinner and been planning it all week.

Hamberger Helper (lasaguna) one... Is it even good? I hate to sound mean, but I been dreading it, sounds not tastey or edible, but is it good?

It's not bad. Hamburger helper tends to be a wee bit overseasoned though. If you would like a less seasoned version simpley hold back a tiny bit of the seasoning packet that is there! SEE, I'll bet many who read this will go back and do a hamburger Helper meal tonight!

I really like most of the Hamburger Helper stuff out there. It's not real lasagna, by any means, but it's pretty good. I'll usually have some form of Hamburger Helper once or twice a month. Usually when I don't feel like cooking.

It's nice that he cooks for you but any kind of Hamburger Helper takes like 20 minutes to cook and doesn't require longer than 10 minutes worth of thought. Since you've never had it before and don't know, Hamburger Helper is food (at least thats what some call it) only fit for college students, cafeterias, trailer park people, ghetto people, and those on welfare. Suggest to him you go out to dinner, you'd be better off even at fast food chains.

Funniest thing I read all week (Its only Tuesday).

As an answer, it comes ready to make in a box that could sit on the grocery shelf for months if not years. All you add is some (usually) bland hamburger meat and heat. Ready in 5-15 minutes.
How good do you think its going to be?

I'm wondering how this qualifies as a meal worthy of preplanning or special occasions.

It is edible and it is OK

When I moved in with my husband he too thought this was 'cooking' for me - my little trick to get him around his lack of truly flavorful taste in food...

When ever we were just sitting around I would flip to the food network, get out a cook book or cooking magazine, or get on line and pull out a recipe for something I thought would be great and then tell him how much fun we could have to spend an evening shopping for the ingredients together, cooking together, have a nice wine, cuddle on the couch....

Got him in the mood
and excited about preparing good food

OHHH PLEEEEZE. Aren't you the little princess?
Yeah it's edible and it's not bad. You might find it enjoyable.
Maybe you BF doesn't know how to cook gourmet, but knows this is something he can do and wants to do it for YOU! be grateful.

It took me years to learn how to cook elaborate gourmet dishes. My wife enjoys it , but she like a box of Hamburger Helper on the nights when we are both to tired to spend several hours in the kitchen.

It is wicked good!! Better than the stuff they make up in a large pan. Unless you're extremely picky I am sure you will like it. I would be thankful you have someone willing to cook for you, alot of women don't get that. I am sure it will be fine. Stop focusing negative thoughts towards it, then it will turn out bad no matter what. Good luck

It's actually pretty good. A nice mid-week meal. It's not gourmet by any means, but perfectly good. Comfort food if you will. It's high in sodium, but otherwise it's totally edible.

I have had the cheeseburger hamburger helper. I'm sure its not that bad. Have him add a salad to that and just mix.

It is pretty good, surprisingly enough, just have some kind of bread with it and may be a salad and it is a good meal. It is the thought that counts so don't be too judgemental.
