I recently stopped taking my ortho-tricyclen because I accidentally ran out 2 1/2 weeks ago. My husband and I have decided that it wouldn't be the end of the world if I got pregnant, so we haven't been using protection. Here's the deal, I have been having sharp pains in my lower abdomen a couple of times each week and on opposite sides. I have also been having cramps alot and my nipples have started hurting. I threw up last night after eating pickles, but this is the first time this has happened. I was wondering if I could be pregnant after quitting the pill so soon. I had a sister-in-law become pregnant within weeks of quitting the patch, but it's different. Any help?

Two easy ways to check:

1) Take a test

2) See your DOCTOR

this is funny to me...i got pregnant like a month after i quit taking ortho tricyclen for the same reasons and now i have my daughter 20 months and my son almost 6 months. it is very possible. i would go to the doctor though b/c those cramps might not be normal each situation with cramping is different.

i took the same pill you did and that was back in november. well, i screwed up so badly on taking them every single day at the same time, i started two weeks before the pack was done. so i tossed them out. two months later, i'm pregnant. anything is possible. to be sure, go see the doc.

you could very easily be pregnant. the thing with the pill, you can get pregnant if you just miss one, never mind stop for 2 1/2 weeks!

I was on the pill (Loestrin) & when I went off the
OBGYN told me it would take me 3 months
to get pregnant & she was right. I suppose
anything is possible though. Best of luck .
