Selina is a fine name! and lovely..I have named my dogs names that sound like each other's, and names more than two syllables, and they learn them just fine! Two females I have now..their nicknames sound nearly the same, but they can certainly tell which I am calling..I call them Fay and Tay..They never get confused..I had a fellow called Gandamak, and another named Rochester..Both knew and responded to their names...Domonique certainly knew her name..Jebellah always knew her name. So much of the dog naming guidelines is just not accurate.(.Maybe pertains if the dog isn't smart?)

Selina will work just fine.

I believe that the name should represent something that brings fond thoughts...such as my girl Fay..real name Phaedre..it means Faithful..and she is THE most faithful dog..Tay, is short for Asteah..which means 'perfection' and it brings fine expectations..If you choose a silly name, you will think silly thoughts, even if subliminally, each time you call the dog..Not a bad thing, if that is what you find endearing..However, naming something that causes subliminal thoughts of the dog being stupid, would be a negative thought each time the name is spoken.

So, if Selina brings warm thoughts, it will be a great name for your dog.

Selina is hard because there are 3 syllables. However, ending in an "a" sound is helpful. Most dog owners find it easy to use only 2 syllables and most names that are more are shortened or nicknamed to become such. The "a" sound is uncomplicated to make, so it runs smoothly off your tongue. Selina reminds me of the latin singer.

Selina is nice but a dog name with 2 syllables is much more ideal. I personally like Scarlet, Sugar, Pepper & Dixie.

I'm not a fan of human names for Dogs-we bought a 8month old lab that had the name Meghan-which we shortened to Meg-we moved and Our neighbours kid is Meghan-it's kind of embarassing!

But selina is nice, although your dog will respond better to a one sylable sharp sounding name!

My dogs are plenty smart!! their names are also used as their retrieve command so only one goes at a time! thats is why one sylable is better easier for the human to say!

It's a nice name but it doesn't really sound like a dog's name... I don't think that "human" names should be given to dogs.
