Make sure you throw in the occasional wipe of the brow, deep breath, heavy sigh, and fist pounding on your desk. The more exasperated you seem, the harder people think you are working.

lol i guess but the best way to fool your boss is to keep a work page up and yahoo up so you can jus switch when you need to

Yeah, it will look like you're really concentrating on something. But make sure he doesn't actually see your screen or your credibility will be ruined.
