Any dog will make a GREAT pet if they are properly trained and very much loved.
I owned a Rottie for 13 yrs before he passed, he was the joy of my life. Never bit anyone was very social and friendly.
But statistics say that more people die from Rottie attacks then any other breed of dog!

Every breed of dog can be wonderful if raised properly. I knew a very well-trained sweet Rottie. Actually, the breed was not developed for fighting or guarding. They were developed to pull carts. That's why the have so much muscle, especially in the chest.

Before considering a breed of dog you should do some research. www.dogbreedinfo.com is a great website. Rotts are working dogs and need lots of exercise and "jobs". This is an important factor to consider whether or not this breed of dog will fit into your lifestyle.

It's all about treatment and training. Rottweilers are some of the sweetest dogs I've worked with.

any dog is a good pet if you raise it right, I had Shade for 14 yrs, she was a rott.....a great dog.

yeah, if you train them right . i have a pit and everyone right away thinks that she is mean and will bite but its all on how you raise them.

yes they have good temperments and are gen. good with kids but if you are mean to it it will be mean to others
