That is a great question, for which I have no answer.
Perhaps they're not completely as stupid as they appear.

The saying "Ignorance is bliss" only pertains to things that are going on behind your back and not knowing about it makes life easier.
If things are happening directly in front of you, theres no way to be ignorant of it. Furthermore, you cannot be ignorant of the fact that you have no money or the girl you love doesn't return the feelings towards you. Most people who arn't happy are so because of their relationships with friends and family and/or their financial situation.

Wow, you're deep. I've thought about this so many times.
People only say that ignorance is bliss, because we won't know the bad things that are going on with the world.
I think the reason that more people aren't happy is because we're selfish and stubborn. We're nosy and ridiculously pushy. That's why we have the famous Parazzi people who have to take pictures of every mistake that goes on in celebrities lives. It's not fair to them. We demand to know the darkest secrets of our neighbors and we really don't need to know them at all...we're just too selfishly natured.
Now, answer my question. do you think the opposite of love is Hate or Apathy?

Ignorance is certainly not bliss. The ignorant man may learn the truth one day. A person is happy not because of his ignorance, but because of his childlike faith that no matter what happens, God's will n love prevail n he does everything for his ultimate good though he may not comprehend it at first. A person with a childlike faith is fully aware of whatever problems or situations he in in but remains confident that God will work things out or for his ultimate good through problems, hardships, pain, hurts or sufferings. He believes that God is moulding his characters, strengthening his faith, or revealing his flaws n failings that he could change. A person with a childlike heart surrender to God' will n remains at peace despite whatever he faces. When he withstood the test, his life becomes a living testimony for Christ. One of the persons in the bible with such a heart is Job.

I believe that is because ignorance is not bliss, it is ignorant. The same way you cannot be happy if you are sad. But to answer, people need to release the guilt. On our own, we cannot do that, we need (spiritual) help or guidance.
Good question tho!:o]

Because most people don't know what happiness is...including you! Read Aristole...he will tell you what happiness is. Ignorance is not bliss, ignorance is ignorance....which will usually lead to pain. I wold much rather know something then remain uninformed...

Ignorant people are happy, but only internally. They love pushing everyone else around and making our lives miserable. They only appear to be unhappy on the surface, they get great joy out of messing around with our lives. Don't confuse me with facts, my minds made up.

Children are just happy because...
Then we have to throw out all our conditioning to find happiness again... it's a process but we can be happy in the process knowing we are getting there and caring for others along the way.

Most people are not happy because that look for happiness in things that will not bring happiness.
They look for it in other people, but people will let you down.
They look for it things but things can bring happiness.
They look for it in money but money comes with its own problems.
But I have found happiness not in the things that I have but the things that I give to others. Happiness is a condition of the heart and a condition of love. It never comes from selfish things but from becoming selfless in the way one live their life.
It comes from compassion for others and really caring what you give to them.
Happiness is not found in me but what I do by living the example of Christ.

Are you a good person? What a question, most of us believe that we are good people because we can look around and find someone that is far worse than we are. We can always point to the things that we think make us a good person.
But how good are we really? Dare we take this test and look at ourselves and see if we really are good? Hmmm.
If you are willing try this and see just how good a person you are.
The Good Person Test.
How will you do? Pass or fail?
Have you ever told a lie?
Doesn't matter how big or small, just a lie.
What does that make you? Before answering think about this, if I told you a lie what would you call me? A liar?
Have you ever stolen anything? Cost doesn't matter, a piece of gum, failed to give back an ink pen that you borrowed, anything.
What does that make you?
Jesus said, "You know the saying of old, you shall not commit adultery but I say that if look at someone to lust after them you have committed adultery in your heart.
Have you ever lusted?
Jesus said that hate is equal to murder.
Have you ever hated anyone?
See one day we all are going to stand before a Holy God on Judgment Day and he is going to judge us based on His Holy Law, the Ten Commandments. These are just 4 of them and how did you do? Guilty? I have broken all of these and more, what about you? How well will you do on Judgment Day?
If we break just one point of God's Law we are guilty of breaking all the law and Gods Wrath abides upon us all. Based on God's Law we are all guilty and all are deserving of punishment. But there is an out for us.
Jesus paid the price for each one of us, took on himself God's Wrath so we wouldn't have to face it on our own. Jesus was beaten, battered, bleed and died so we wouldn't have to face God's Wrath. He rose again so that we would life in his presence. Our crimes, His payment.
The real question is where will you stand on Judgment Day. Pay yourself or have it paid for you. Think about it.
