Hey There,
My husband and I want to redo a small room that will be a nursery for our new baby. We just wondered where is the cheapest place to buy paint. We live in Saint Paul, MN. Thanks!

Opps paint. It's the paint that gets mixed wrong. Any place that has paint probably has oops paint. Yesterday, homedepot had it on sale for a dollar a gallon! But usually it is $5 a gallon. They have plenty of neutral colors too.

I would get your paint from sherwin williams if i was painting your room and if cost was an issue the best paint for your money Is promar 200 the paint from walmart is like water and you will have to use twice as much so you really arent saving your paying more so pay the extra $5 and it should only take a gallon or two. Also sherwin williams has excellent color matching computers so if you just get one gallon and run out you can just go get another one with relatively no worries. good luck:)

home depot. you will need a primer ... it'll make it easier. the type of paint you buy depends on where it is going. Matte paints dry with no sheen and don't reflect light; it also hides imperfections. This finish is hard to clean and is best used in low traffic areas. Eggshell finish is like matte but with a bit of shine when it dries. It suits walls as it washes slightly better than flat-finish paints. Satin finish has a little more shine than the eggshell and is washable. It is good for high traffic Semi-gloss paint has a little shine when it is dry and it does show any imperfections on the walls . It is good in rooms that require regular cleaning; it is good for kitchens and bathrooms. High-gloss paints have a more shine and reflect light. With this finish any little imperfections shows up. It is normally used for trims and such.

If you have a habitat for humanity close by they generally have donated items from many wholesale contractors and major chains that do not have the need for these items and you can pick up item at a very reasonable price, from major appliances to paints, household goods and etc. these are tax write off for corporations. So it wouldn't hurt to look. For example I picked up a new dryer for $100 because it had a scratch on it so they couldn't sell it as new so it was donated.

No cheap paint!!!! It's evil!! After doing 4 coats I vowed never to do cheap paint again. It's only $10 a gallon but you need twice as much.

Wal-Mart. I suggest the Kilz brand paint, it's good quality paint, and the can is plastic and has a spout, so it's relatively drip-free, and less than $20 a gallon.

My retired parents swear Walmart is the cheapest and it is still good paint. I personaly don't go to Walmart. I beleive in Parker Pro series. It is really good paint, you get what you pay for.

DON"T buy cheap paint. Professional painters don't charge an arm and a leg for paint to rip you off, they do it because good paint is expensive. Bottom line is don't skimp when it comes to your home, period.

Wal-mart, however, you will have to deal with your concious as to the people that work in sweat shops to manufacture the paint.
