See I partied all weekend and I got drunk. I missed church b/c I felt so ashamed b/c I betrayed my religion just to have a good time. Do you think if I pray hard enough He'll forgive me?

Whether you betray religion or not is of very little consequence.
Religions in general are man structured skeletons on which the outer shells can be changed if needed.

Christianity is not, though it is categorized, a religion - so to speak. Christianity is in fact a character, life-style, a person. If you feel you have betrayed your religion, you are 'probably', holding it in a higher degree than is safe to do. If you feel you have betrayed Christianity, this would be in line with offending Jesus, which is the same as sinning against God. God will forgive us of practically anything, except 'blasphamy of the Holy Spirit' (knowing that something is the Holy Spirit and attributing it to/as the working of Satan) and there's a high degree of chance with 'premeditated sin' (planned sin, which, if you die right after commiting, might be a problem). God is and should be the only one you should be concerned about offending. This is constuctively done by patient submission to and application to our lives of the Word of God. This in no way excludes treating people, animals, situations right whether anyone is around or not. God knows along the way we are going to mess up somewhere. Jesus paid for our sins in full on the cross. " It is finished " meant just that. Our 'sin' problem was that no matter how hard we tried, we just couldn't avoid sinning. Sin has a condemning affect, leaving us with more unexplainable spiritual weight. Christ freed us from all that by breaking the 'power' that sin had over us.

Colossians 1:14-15 " In whom we haave redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

I don't think you should worry about a betrayal to your religion. It is the sin against God you should worry about. If you have Christ as your Savior ask for His forgiveness of course you are forgiven. God's grace is sufficient. The Word never makes mention of people who party too hard one night skip church the next day as being the only sinners who will be without His Grace.
No, you can never do anything on your own including hard prayer for your salvation. It is not by your acts but by the Grace of God that you are forgiven. The work on the cross.

God forgives everything when a truly repentant heart asks Him to. Repentance is a turning away from sin. You might need to repent for your shame and pride too. It is pride that kept you from church. There is no condemnation is Christ Jesus. That comes from Satan. so, you got drunk, then listened to the lies of the devil that told you not to go to church. God is everywhere, you can't hide from Him. If you feel bad about what you've done, He has the power to help you not do it again.

God is loving and forgiving. It's not about praying harder. It's about your heart turning away from your sin and seeking help in Christ to not do it again. Yes, we all stumble and fall, but we must get back up and keep trying. I was stuck in one sin for 8 long years, but my heart wanted to stop, and I was making an effort to get help. In the end, I saw that God is faithful, as today I stand free of that sin finally. You WILL reap a harvest if you do not give up. God keeps His end of the bargain.

What you feel now is the conviction of the Holy Spirit, Yes He will forgive you,

Also another message is being given to you, and that is from Satan, who is telling you that you have gone too far and that you cannot be forgiven, this is the lie of Satan.

You see, the Holy Spirit convicts you of your sins, The Devil Condemns you of them.

Think of it like a Courtroom, God is the Judge, Satan is the prosecuting attorney, and Christ is your Attorney.

Satan picks out all of your sins and points at you in front of God saying "see , see, he/she did that, and there, she/he did this, and lied and stolen and cheated and all this.

Jesus turns it around and says "objection your Honor, That individual has accepted Me as Lord and Savior, I have paid the penalty for all those sins.

In fact, there are more number of hospitals, on earth, than there r restaurants. . The number of diabetic, cancer tuberoculosis, and other deceases , in the world is enormous.
There r lawful punishments for all unlawful pleasures. There is more evidence that God do not leave the details in the whole.
The wheels of lord is slow to move but sure to move. That is the mandatory provision God made. There is none, who did not receive his punishment.
But, Lord said, who ever with faith, faith, faith, prays me, there r allowances. But not acquittals.only remissions.practically speaking this is the arrangement in the world..
There r people who preach that God is very kind. but in practice we see there is none who did not receive punishment in his life.
Hence, punishments r mandatory. One should understand the situations by studying his mode of delivery .
The Judgement of lord is extremely judicial, but punishments appear delayed.

In the Holy Bible, God said when you repent to him, He will separate you and your sins as far as the east is to the west. So all you have to do is repent for the bottom of your heart and He will forgive you.

If you pray with a repentent heart---that is what is important, God knows your heart, and he knows who are truly ashamed and want His forgiveness, He convicts us when we sin, and draws us to Him.
Do you truly want to stop sinning and follow Him? I mean do you desire to NOT sin?
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

We have a GOOD God. He told us of His forgiveness..
Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

So reason together with God and He will forgive you... Jim
