Tell her you're sorry, but after a certain date (say, a week) you won't be able to give her a ride anymore. Don't give her a reason, just say that arrangements have changed and you can't manage it anymore. Then, after that date, don't pick her up.
Suggest that she put up notices that she needs a ride on a bulletin board, if your workplace has one, or look into ride-sharing or buses.
You aren't being mean to ditch her. She isn't owed a gratis ride. Her boasting about not having to spend gas money shows she's a parasite who is taking advantage of you. Just say "no."

You aren't being a mean person to not let yourself be taken advantage of! And this person is just over the top.. to brag that she doesn't have to spend gas money!
Give her a bill for $200... that's $5 a day for your gas, time, and wear and tear on your vehicle. When she gets horrified and says she won't pay because you never asked her to before, tell her you'll give her a pass on the arrears but that will be the rate in the future, and watch her find another way home :)
And.. if she pays up... well that's even better :)

Just be honest with her. Simply tell her that it's out of your way and causing you some inconvenience. There's no point in beating around the bush especially if she's your coworker and you have to face her every day after you tell her. At least she should appreciate your honesty. If not and she's bent out of shape about it, then you did your honest best and that's what matters most (everyone will respect you for that, if she proceeds to talk crap about you to others). Plus, you'll love your life a lot better without this extra task, even if it's at the expense of some newfound awkardness with a coworker. People just have to understand to accept "no" sometimes in their life!

Tell her straight up, "Hey, listen, I thought I was doing you a temporary favor, but now it has been 2 months and every time I take you home, I go out of my way! Either offer to pay for a tank of gas each week or make other arrangements to get yourself home." How does she get to work? You can mention that person should be responsible for taking her home too.

You no longer go the way your coworker lives, you have to go another way because you have to start stopping off at your mothers (or wherever) after work to help her with a project. Once you do this for a solid, she'll find another way home. Don't feel guity, you are not a taxi cab and she should have offered to pay you gas money. Quit being so nice. :)

Ask her if she`s willing to pitch in a little extra money for gas, if she can`t then say sorry it`s out of my way. Don`t be a push over. I told my sister inlaw that I won`t even show up at her house, if she doesn`t have the gas money waiting. She tried to use me all last summer.

Just be honest! Tell her that it is out of your way to take her home and that, since she isn't contributing to the gas fund, you'll need to stop giving her a ride. If she gets upset or is offended that's her problem. I don't mean that in a bad way. But you have to look after yourself and not let anyone take advantage of you!

Just tell her. I can't believe you've let her take advantage of you for so long. I don't even think you should offer her a ride if she pays because she will come up with excuses not to pay.
You are not being mean by refusing to go out of your way and take her home for free.

If worse comes to worse, and you are her only option and you feel guilty and don't want to be mean, you should ask for gas money or some other type of reimbursement for the ride. Is there another co-worker that lives by her? Maybe see if they could do it. How does she get to work?

Tell her you want $25 (or whatever) a week for gas.
You could go so far as to compute how far out of your way in miles and time and put a price on that.
If she's willing to pay what you decide is fair, would you take her? Or do you simply not want the bother?
In either case, honesty is ALWAYS the best policy!
