You need to obtain a bachelors degree and then attend medical school. When you graduate you have to complete a residency in obstetrics and gynecology which takes another four years. An OB-GYN deals with all issue regarding the female reproductive system, including deliveries of babies.

Obstetrician and gynecologist or a doctor who specializes in the female reproductive system. To become an OB-GYN you first go to medical school then specialize in the field.

Total = 12 years.

There are a bunch of tests you have to take along the way - 3 steps of the United States Medical Licensing Exam and usually a written and oral exam to become board certified.
