Probably allergies...yes, dogs have allergies, too. Could be pollen, dust, smoke, or even you. I suggest that you take the dog to a veterinarian for a check-up. They have drops and ointments to be used to diminish the thickness of the mucosae. Occasionally, it is indicative of a worse ailment.

Could be just a speck of dirt making its way out, could be an infection. Clean it out with the tip of a soft cloth or a paper towel and check him regularly, chances are after cleaning it once or twice it'll be gone, but if it keeps coming back then go see a vet, then he could have an eye infection that requires eye drops to get rid of. Generally it's not an emergency unless the discharge is really-really gross and smelly, then you should see the vet right away rather than cleaning & waiting for just a day or so.

Have you checked to see if the eye has been hurt in any way?Does he have something in it? Could be conjunctivitis..If so you need to take to vet to get antibiotic eye meds.It want clear on its own and may cause eye damage.

If it literally looks like puss, it's conjunctivitis and you need to get the dog to the vet immediately. If you have other dogs, watch them, as it's highly infectious.
