All countries show-case their militiary strength to keep their potential adversary at bay. How does it matter whether the weapons are indigeneously manufactured or bought from some other countries. What matters is whose possesion and what type of weapons are there and how well they can use it effectively. That is all that is going to matter at the time of war.

these days its not necessary to fight to assert your superiority, but the show of strength is a part of military diplomacy.

when you show your military capabilities, it is believed that it acts at deterrent on your enemy so that the enemy remembers what weapons you have and thinks twice before deciding to attack you!

if you mean to argue that India need not show it just because it is imported i will disagree, but yes i believe that India must develop its own military technology own its own sooner than later.

they do it to show their military might.all countries show off what they capture during conflicts to show that they are a force to be reckoned with.
