You don't know what you are talking about!
where are you getting this information? Were you told this? If you were taught this the person who taught you were teaching you wrong. This is what I was taught. "Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so!"
"Oh how I love Jesus because he first loved me!" and "He touched me!" All my life I've heard in church to love myself and to love others.I have never ever heard anything about love your neighbor and hate yourself! You are misinformed.

Hmmm...I really don't know how to answer this one, you really have your facts way off. I am not taught to hate myself, I am made in the image of God.
I am born a sinner, yes, but thankfully those sins are paid for.
As for loving my neighbor, that is a tough one to follow sometimes and it takes prayer.

Sinners, yes. Lost in sin, yes. Worthless? Never! Jesus died for me BECAUSE I am priceless. There is no self hate in Christianity. The thing God hates is sin, not people.

The Bible does not teach us to hate ourselve. Hebrews 13:1 tells us to keep loving our brothers. I John 4:11"Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love another." The only thing that teaches hate is Lucifer and his ilk. God teaches love. Perhapes you are referring to the verse Hate the sin love the sinner, but then it still involves loving your brother.

Although Christians believe we are sinners,we believe that we are saved through Christ's blood. The fact that God was actually prepared to become human and experience death just to save us is not exactly the kind of doctrine that makes you feel worthless!I mean,GOD died to save someone as insignificant as ME?--now I don't know about you,but that just makes my day!If I'm worth so much to God that He actually endured, not only the massive indignity of becomming human, but also the pain and death of crucifiction, for ME,then, well,it would be pretty weird for me to see myself as worthless when the King of the Universe deemed me worthy enough to endure all THAT for me.Also, the verse in it's complete form runs,
''Love your neighbour as you love yourself.''
"...AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF'' ???
Well,if christians really do view themselves as worthless, that verse would really be instructing us to view our neighbours as worthless, too. But Christ tells us to love and reach out to them--over and over again. You see,the christian belief is,Yes,I am worthless on my own,but IN CHRIST I FIND MY WORTH.So,from a christian viewpoint, I'm afraid your question is completely invalid.

We are to hate our lower selves... the selves that do evil to others. The same goes for our neighbors. We can love them, but hate their lower selves. That is loving our neighbor as we love ourselves. We are not to condone evil, or say that someone who just murdered someone is a great guy.
It doesn't take a genius to figure this out.

OK dude. That's just plain silly.
If I look in the mirror, would the fact that I discover my face is dirty and needs a nice wash mean I hate myself. Would it not more be a display of how much I care for myself AND others that I wash it so it is healthy and more appealing to others.

That is what we know we are, but we love ourselves very much, as do all people. You buy yourself a new car, get a makeover, have your nails done (I hope that applies to only women), etc, etc. Why? because "I deserve it." Or so we think. We are to treat others in the same way as we would want them to treat us... with love and kindness.

I have never been taught to hate myself. I don't know where you are getting that from. I am taught that it is normal to sin, you are going to make mistakes...and there is forgiveness....that is the opposite of hating yourself.
