If you're trying to avoid costly bills, you can take him to a pet food supply store and look at medicines, read boxes and look for his symptoms. Ask employees, specifically management or people with more experience. Otherwise, take him to the vet. To get looked at will be just about $40. It's really not that much. They will quote you on everything else, and it doesn't mean you have to do it, but they'll tell you what the cat's illness is. From there, if you choose not to get it fixed by the vet, you can ask more questions here by people who've had a cat with the same illness, or elsewhere. You absolutely need to find out what it is. Can you spare $40? Then atleast take him to find out what it is. If you are old enough for a credit card. "Care Credit" works at some vets.

Give him a warm place to lay, make sure he has plenty of water to drink. If he has been like this for several days and has only gotten worse, then definitely call your vet soon. They'll be able to give you a better idea of what's wrong and how to treat it. It may be something small such as a cold, but it also could be something more serious.

By the time a cat is showing symptoms, it's already very sick. Delaying or treating it yourself can just cost you more in vet bills as the sicker they are the more costly to treat.
Please take him to the vet, he's suffering and in pain.

Go to the phone NOW and call the vet. Your cat is very ill and no amount of "home doctoring" is going to do much good.

You can never be too careful with a pet. I think you might feel better if you took your cat to the vet.

the only thing you can do is take him to the vet. if you cannot afford a private vet, call your local humane soiety or animal shelter and they should have a list of free to low cost clinics you can take him to. hope he feels better.

buy some Boric Acid solution (specially for eyes of cats/dogs/humans) and apply to a soft cloth. Carefully wipe his eyes a couple of times a day.
good luck
