Edward Jennings did. He realized that milk maids who had been exposed to a milder form of pox, did not get small pox.
He got the idea to take scrapings from the milk maids' pox and scratch it into the skin of a previously uninfected person.
That was the beginning of vaccines.

THAT WAS MY GREAT, GREAT, GREAT GRANDFATHER, REYNALDO PHILLIP RENE!!!!!!!!!! Do you realise that my ancestor was very hard of hearing.? Well, He thought that his boss, Dr. John Asoka told him to go and see about 'box production', when in fact he said PROTECTION FROM SMALL POX!!! Anyway, my ancestor,{god bless this man] went to go and see someone about producing box's. On the way out, he trip's over these box's, and in doing so mixes a bunch of chemicals together and the rest is history!!!!!!
