I'm refering to my screen name - it's a joke I have with a friend who is called Jesus (he's peurto rican so it's pronounced hey-zoos) - he goes online as "I-hate-steve".

Get over yourselves, people, it's just a joke and doesn't involve messiahs or walking on water and all that.

Well, I would guess that not only Christians think that you are refering to the Son of the King. The world we live in today doesn't make sense, and there are all to many people that are ready to blast anything that is anything. I think that when you put that screen name up, you knew you would stir up a little trouble. The truth is that not too many people have the name Jesus, and most people don't even realize that as a possibility before they think.

I am a Christian, and the arrangement you have with your mate is funny! Now you have explained, hopefully many of the Christians will understand.
Its just like me having a screen name 'I-hate-? (sam for example)'
Maybe you could compromise and put an accent in the name over the first 'e' as there is in the spanish language. Or write it as 'hes-oos'.

To be honest, if I had seen it without an explanation, I would have taken it as you talking about our Lord and Saviour.
Like if Had a friend called Mohammad, I wouldn't have the screen name 'I-hate-Mohammad'

Probably because on Yahoo Answers there are a lot of people who like to bash Christian faith.

Come on... it would be an honest mistake.

I'm sure you'd get the same from Muslims if your friend's name was Muhammed.

Maybe you could put an explaination in your profile so that Christians will not misunderstand.

Not surprising you were misunderstood have you seen some of the answers to people who express any kind of Christian belief?
Perhaps you should change it to hey-zoos?

I have a friend we call "Buddha" because he looks like a Buddha statue. If I came on here with the nickname "I hate Buddha" I'd expect the Buddhists to be offended. I may not be talking about their Buddha, but I have the intellegance to see where it would lead to a misunderstanding.

People always assume things. But Jesus isn't usually referring to real, living people.

You know what your getting yourself into and something tells me its intentional so go find something else to do. You didn't think I'd buy your lame story that easily....
You must be a frustrated atheist looking for attention.

Okay....I get it, but your still going to get bashed playing in R&S with that title. Its just a fact, but I will be one that remembers when I see it what it means.......if that helps. I didn't bash you anyway, so I guess that it doesn't really matter. Good day!
