Why do people (for the most part) in the r/s category have problems with people who live by faith? What is wrong with that? Why does everything have to be "proven" or "fact" or "tangible" for them? I'm not being judgemental, I'm just trying to get a better understanding at how people think.

I think this is a very good question. I am a faith liver and I know exactly what you mean. I think for the most part people want proof so they can be certain of what needs to be done. Some people feel as though they cannot do things unless they will get something out of it. I am glad to know that there are others who strugle with the same ideas and questions I have. Good luck in your faith walk and God bless.

I just needed point out to the guy above that many of his points are not issues of faith. I do not have faith that my car will start. I come to the logical conclusion that it will start based on the fact that it started every single time I've turned the key so far. I know the bank will safeguard my money because they've done that consistently for the last 20 years that I've had bank accounts. Another common one; We do not need faith to keep airplanes in the air. We understand the science behind aerodynamics. Things that you expect in everyday life are not based on faith if they are things that are consistent. They are then based on evidence, which is the exact opposite of faith.

EVERYONE on planet earth, LIVES BY FAITH!

FAITH, that the Car Starts, that you will have a job when you get there, faith in ones mate, faith that your team will win and on and on and on!

EVEN FAITH, that the Bank that you put your money into, WILL HAVE it when you want it! Faith that your Credit Card will work, faith that your Medical Test was correct and that it was not mixed up with another that had Aids!

LETS FACE IT, we all Live By Faith, in one thing or another!

I live by Faith in the Finished Work of Christ Jesus, and I am secure as His Child and in that and in Nothing Else!

(Hab 3:17) Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

(Hab 3:18) Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Thanks, RR

Because a fool can not understand that even things they think is fact, is in fact made by faith.

I don't know any other way to live except by Faith. Some people just don't understand faith.

Let me spell it out since so many people have so little logic in their brains.

The answer that you should already know? Because they want you to BUTT OUT of other peoples lives. Other people don't believe what you do but most religious (not all) try to make other people live by THEIR religion and harass them about it if they don't.

I don't live my life by a fantasy or try to influence others with same said fantasy.

Imagine if I told you I had this liquid that would make you younger, slimmer, and more confident. Would you drink it, or would you be skeptical? What if I showed you an old book with testimonials, would you have faith in me then?

See?

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...

I, personally, only have "problems with" people who use various things, like religion, to cause hatred and harm, deny people their human rights, etc. What others believe outside of that is not my affair.

I don't really mind as long as it doesn't impose.
But, this is a discussion board, and one specifically about religion.
That's why you'll find people talking about it and questioning things about it.
