Different perspective on similar problems.
Also, learning another language helps with mental flexibility - learning German for me as a native English speaker was the mental equivalent of learning to downhill ski after knowing how to rollerblade. Same broad concept, very different in some of the particulars.

Absolutely...in today's world many of us interact regularly with people who speak other languages and come from other cultures...
All things being equal, being bilingual could also give you the edge on a job or benefit you in sime similar way.
Plus, it simply helps you understand better some of the people who share this world with you.

I THINK THE WORLD HAS BECOME SMALLER, AND SMALLER. AS YOU THINK OF THE WORLD AND YOU SEE THE PEOPLE, ONE THING IS FOR SURE . WE ARE ALL THE SAME.... WHEN YOU LIVE ABOAD, YOU START NOTICING THAT THE REALITY IS THAT ALL HUMAN 'S ...HAVE LOVE,FAMILIES, A JOBS, AND THEY ALL ASPIRE TO DO THE BEST THEY CAN, JUST LIKE YOUR FAMILY,FRIENDS ETC. THE CULTURE, AND LANGUAGES ARE THE ICING ON THE CAKE... YOU REALIZE THERE'S NO DIFFRENCE I SEE LIGHT, I DONT SEE ANYTHING ELSE WHEN I LOOK AT PEOPLE,JUST THE SAME LIGHT ALL OVER THE WORLD. ITS BENEFICIAL CAUSE WE LEARN THAT WE ARE THE SAME........NAMASTE

I think it's great to be bilingual. The more you know the more you're worth. It helps in the work place and in everyday life.

Of course, but if you have little time, it is probably more beneficial to have a deeper understanding of one, than a shallow understanding of two.

It helps give you perspective on yours. You can't see it clearly from the inside, so it helps to expand your thinking.
Also it helps you understand others.
