Just go into any bank you wish to join (take in proof of Id and proof of address) tell em you wish to open an account.
It doesnt matter what/if you work/receive benefits.

I presume that seeing as how you are not going to be paying huge amounts in you would want quite a basic bank account? Something where you can get your benefits paid into and set up Standing orders and Direct debits to pay your bills? If this is the case every bank offers the facility of a Basic Bank account. Some are better than others. Banks like Halifax, Co-Op, Natwest offer debit cards but without the worry of going overdrawn. With these accounts there are no cheque or overdraft facilities. Off the top of my head i can't remember which of these you can apply for online but i am almost positive you can do the Natwest one online and you would then just need to take your id into the branch and they open your account there and then (or if you didn't want to do it online just pop into your local branch). it is called the STEP account.
One good thing about Natwest is that their call centres are in the UK so no speaking to someone over in India who doesn't understand what you are wanting ;)
Good luck and hope this helps x

Call the bank of your choice. I would check on free checking with no mimimun balance. That way you are not changed a service fee. Check into direct deposit. Most banks are willing to go with this. It is a plus because you don't have to worry about the mail.Hope this helps.

You should not have any trouble opening any account. Banks accept money and don't care if it's from payroll or disability.

The care ingredient and mobility ingredient is yours - once you've someone who formally cares for you ie 30 hours or more beneficial per week - then they ought to declare carers allowance - thoroughly diverse earnings. call DLA and request a replace of economic corporation information - you should attempt this in writing yet probably no longer in the journey that they ask you some protection questions. contact Welfare rights on your city if you're having complications.

Most bank accounts only require one or two forms of ID and proof of address. (A utility bill, or written statement from landlord or government housing agreement)
