If you bought a wedding dress online how would you prefer to receive your dress? I mean what type of box do I put it in and where can i get such box (at the lowest price). Do I ship it in the bag it came in? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Oh and also, would you rather purchase the crinoline separate or with the dress. And if together, should I ship separatly? Keep in mind the crinoline looks like a sleeping bag all rolled up. The dress has a train but can be bustled up.

Hi. I would definitely suggest shipping it in the bag. If you sell the crinoline with the dress than certainly ship together. You should be able to pack both items together in a good old fashioned regular cardboard box, just make sure that it as wide as the shoulders and deep enough to hold the dress. Don't worry so much about folding the dress, perhaps you should more or less roll the dress up...loosely. Also If you have any bubble wrap to wrap the dress in prior to rolling, it will help to prevent any wrinkles. Purchaser will simply have to have it steamed to release any trace wrinkles, or they may even be able to just allow it to hang to release. Once you have dress in box, fill the rest of the way with more bubble wrap to keep it from slipping & sliding. You may be able to find boxes & bubblewrap both for free by checking with some of your local gift shops. 'Tuesday Morning' is a place I regularly go to fetch their old boxes & they often times have ample amounts of bubble wrap headed for the trash. I imagine Marshall's & Ross are much the same. (These retailers merchandise breakables out of their original boxes & thus throw away all that valuable bubble wrap)
Finally, I would suggest Priority Mail via the good old-fashioned USPS. That way it arrives in 2-3 days & travels via an airplane as opposed to semi-trucks. Insurance is suggested on something like this, as is delivery confirmation...both available at minimal fees.
I have shipped 100's of items & have found USPS Priority Mail to be consistantly reliable & punctual.

I bought mine off of eBay it didn't come in a box it was vacuum sealed then in the Puralator stretch plastic it made it here fine. (to Canada from Hmong Kong). I have worked retail before and most clothes are wrapped in plastic not in boxes.Even if you do put it in a box I would suggest buying a vacuum bag to make it water proof and it will need a smaller box. Dress will need to be steamed when it gets to receiving end no matter what so don't worry about wrinkles.
My bag had my dress my daughters dress(flower girl) my crinoline which was a hoop was wrapped in plastic just a regular bag. All of these were in a bigger bag that was then wrapped in the puralator bag. The end package would have fit in a sweater size box. My dress was very big (I'm a larger lady) had a train with three layers on it and had fur on the neckline and around arms. Save postage mail it all together it will save you from dealing with an upset bride if she thinks you forgot to mail something. Also put a tracking number on it to save yourself stress. She can check the number and know where it is.

I would prefer to receive the dress in the original bag which will be put into a box filled with packing material. This way it should not be badly damaged during delivery. To purchase the crinoline means more money and to be honest, if you are looking to save money the crinoline should be included with the dress and if it is possible, ship both at the same time.

Hope this helps.

I would rather buy them together and ship them together just wrapped separately. Anyone that buys a dress online has to know it's going to be creased and wrinkled and will need some major steaming before it can be worn. I would take it all to a mailing place (Mail Box Plus, etc.) and have them fit it into a box that will keep it from shifting too much but isn't too large.
