Okay what exactly does it mean? i thought it meant pet, and i wasnt sure and i cant find it so yea. Thanks :)

hachiko maybe im not really sure, but its a word for pet, or calling some one a pet...

Like Yukidomari said, Hachi does not mean "pet". The Japanese word for pet is "petto" (ペット). Hachi could possibly be a particular pet's name.

If it's a dog, it could be short for Hachiko, a famed dog that lived in Japan in the Tokyo area in the 20's. Hachiko saw his master off at the front door every day and greeted him at the train station every day when he returned from work. Hachiko continued going to the train station at quitting for 11 years after his master died.

it's hard to know what you mean, because there're a couple of words that are romanized as hachi. Do you have the character for it???

a couple possibilities are

八 (the number eight)
鉢 (a bowl)
蜂 (a bee)
