After loading Acrobat 8 I keep getting this information box indicating ACROBAT UPDATER is attempting to connect to Adobe to update the Updater (sic.). The box just hangs there and I have to kill Acrobat to get the box off my screen. I would imagine it can't communicate through my companies firewall or something else is blocking the update process. Help says one can just disable the Updater but there is no place to select options in the update the Updater box (different than Updater?).

Problem is not with Startup activity (MSCONFIG) or in the Edit - Preferences (there is no option to de-select updates in Acrobat 8 Reader).
