Depends on the product in the pan and what type of pan it is. Acid based product in a reactive pan is a no win situation. Soup in a covered glass pan, heat and serve again

Not to worry! It is true that if you leave acidic foods in an aluminum container they can leach the metal into the food over time. Also, it used to be that tin cans were soldered together with lead-based material which could leach into food once the can was opened (sealed cans were safe.)

However, the amount of leached aluminum is very small and would not hurt you unless you did this all the time and ate huge quantities of food stored this way. Most metal kitchen container today are stainless steel which is chemically inert. It is actually supposed to be safer to use stainless steel or glass containers to store food because some plastics will leach chemicals into food that is stored in them.

You should not do this with acidic foods.i.e food containing vinegar or citric acid. Avoid storing these foods in aluminum or copper pans. And no, it won't make u sick, but might have harmful effects in the long term.

Never store food in a metal container, because it could poison your food! This goes for dog and cat food, too.

As long as it's not an aluminium pan with acidic ingredients in it you should be fine.

I wouldn't do it with aluminum pans. Stainless steel should be OK.
