There are a bunch of places you can send a photo to and they'll paint it into a portrait, but I'm looking for something in the Washington DC area where they'll actually TAKE the picture, and THEN turn it into a portrait. Anyone know of someplace I can do that?

I remember Kinkos doing something like that when I worked there, but I don't know if they still do.

Both A.C. Moore and Ritz Camera are chain stores which offer this service. Check local framing and art supply shops, as well as local photo service centers. In all cases, this is a send-out service, not something that can be done in-house while you wait.
