Shouldn't it be supposed to be a place for love, or at least understanding and tolerance?? Why should some of you try so hard to hurt each other? Is it because you need to be superior? So, maybe you need a psicologist instead.
Just wondering.

A very good question; one I find myself asking frequently.

If people were so "fulfilled" within their particular belief system or religion, one would think that they would have no motivation to insult others or aggressively push their particular belief.

And - just being basically Christian myself - I would expect other Christians to set a better example of behavior.

I think it would be really interesting and fascinating for people of the world's greatest religions to come together here and discuss what they have in common, because in truth, they do have much in common.

Religion in particular has never caused hurt, an unwarranted sense of superiority, or hostility. Never ever. Not once. Nope. You'd have to go somewhere other than religion to find that sort of unpleasantness, yessireebob.

(Is the sarcasm thick enough that everyone can recognize it? I used a trowel.)

If there are 2 issues that have consistently sparked controversy and anger in communication, it rather is faith and politics. in case you think of the folk listed right here are rude and hateful, you ought to bypass spend it sluggish in the government and Politics area. the folk listed right here are gentle, somewhat. I evaluate many of the regulars right here kinda like kinfolk, even if or no longer they're Christians or atheists. Rudeness and insults are the norm right here, and are envisioned. What bothers me is this Marxist strategies-set which you and distinctive others seem to have, and the newly elected president pushes, additionally. you likely be attentive to it as political correctness. the genuine call for it rather is marxism: do no longer say something to absolutely everyone approximately something that could desire to reason puzzling emotions, or that could harm somebody's emotions. It makes me ill. This u . s . replace into in keeping with many strategies, between the supervisor of them being FREEDOM OF SPEECH, yet Obama, and his some distance left cronies will take this freedom removed from the folk of this u . s ., as we slide added and extra in the direction of being a Marxist, Socialist society. I welcome Desiree's comments. Or Dreamstuff's evaluations. Janet... there are two things in the world that are guaranteed to start a fight. Religion and politics. There's a reason why its said "never bring them up in conversation". And this place is focused on religion.

Let me ask you this... why wouldn't there be hostility?

"Shouldn't it be supposed to be a place for love, or at least understanding and tolerance??"

Why should it be? Does religion-as opposed to a specific religion- teach "understanding and tolerance"?

All of the monotheists are here with the idea that everyone who doesn't share their view of one god is wrong.

All of the atheists are here with the idea that everyone who doesn't share their view of no god is wrong.

All of the polytheists are here with the idea that everyone who doesn't share their view of many gods is wrong.*

We can't agree on number of deities and you think tolerance "should" be here.
(*though not as wrong as the other two think each other are.)
