As long as you allow it to keep hurting. It is in your hands now. You are in control of your destiny. My advice and this might sound cliche, but you only have ONE life. DON'T waste it on people that don't matter, and you DON'T hurt the people who do. Think about that... Hope I helped.

I'm sorry that you're hurting. I wish I could give you some easy solutions or tips as to how to get past the hurt quickly, but you know that's not possible. There's no time-table and it's important that you take special care of yourself. Independence and freedom are valuable things that you will learn to treasure in time. It may take as long to get over the hurt as the relationship lasted, but you'll progress slowly until you have healed completely. Good Luck

Time DOES help. My husband died 6 years ago tomorrow and I still miss him even though I have gone on with life and have a boyfriend. It's important that you not brood; it can eat at you like a cancer. Just remember; it is HIS loss and there is someone out there that will make you stop hurting. Good luck and God bless

It will take as long as it takes you to get over him. Once you have come to grips with the fact that it is over and isn't going to come back together and once you realize that there is nothing that you can do about it you will be fine. Of course you may still think about him from time to time but you won't be hurt anymore.

As long as you dwell on losing him, the hurt will continue. Expand your horizons and get over it. Go to new places,a nd meet new people. the beauty of the human race is that most males and females can learn to love and experience the good of anybody if they only take that first step.

It depends on so many things - the worse case scenario is that it's going to take a long time - best case scenario is that you either change your life and do new things you have been putting off or you could go out this weekend and meet someone new!

It will take as long as it takes I am afraid. Don't do anything rash in the mean time. A temporary relief to the agony will only postpone the hurt.
