A 5 month old puppy will be losing it's puppy teeth. You should check to see if one is trapped by an adult tooth coming in or should have already fallen out but hasn't.

Apparently puppies sometimes get bad breath when they are losing their baby teeth. I'm not sure when beagles start losing their baby teeth, but 5 months seems like a reasonable age for a dog to still be shedding baby teeth.

It's never a bad idea to have a vet look at your dog for breath issues as bad breath can indicate a lot of things, they are just more common in older dogs.

my dobie had some pretty stinky breath around that age as well, but it was due to her adult teeth coming in and her puppy teeth falling out. if your pups bad breath is because of this there isn't a whole lot you can do other than keeping the dog on a high quality kibble so the food isn't a contributor. better quality kibbles tend to have less plaque build-up, so your pups adult teeth will stay cleaner and healthier longer.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aUNTb

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Have his teeth checked. He may have a bad tooth.
Fishy smelling breath could be a sign of liver or kidney problems.

Brush its teeth regularly with dog toothpaste. All British vets recommend this.

For 5 months this is very unlikely:
If your dog has VERY unbareable breath, he might have cancer. Yet he might have ate something that was dead. There are doggy treats that have chicken flavored mint in them, so your lovey likes them, and you can bear to be near his mouth. :3 Hope I could help!

Milkbones! That is what I use for my dogs. They are cheap and work great.
