Rob, I agree that sometimes people make jokes as a way of trying to lighten the situation. I believe that when people ask for help in this forum and I am prepared to respond, I do take my response to that person seriously. Usually, (don't laugh people), I pray first. I put my hand on the screen and I ask the help of the Holy Spirit to lead me to 'say' the right thing- to say what he would have me say; to say something that will be enlightening, uplifting, helpful and peaceful. Sometimes questions are funny and whatever personality you have, you might come forth with a humorous response. I try not to be so serious. If the question is serious, I will respond in like kind. If the question has a certain amount of humor, I will respond in that manner as well. I think that for the most part - if you are serious about your responses, you will do the right thing based upon the presentation of the question. I hope this helps.

Sorry, I sometimes give answers and ask questions jokingly because everyone gets sooo serious on here and I think everyone could use a laugh and lighten up. If you take yourself too seriously then you'll end up dying from a brain aneurysm at like 45, and nobody wants that.

The life changing answer may be something humorous, or a kick in the *** to not take themselves so seriously.

If you are getting human interaction needs fulfilled on this machine, a good kick may be in order as it is.

In the Buddhist tradition at least, humour can bring enlightenment. A laugh IS life-changing.
