Many seem to think police seek out "cop killers" faster than the regular citizen. This is absurd as the police diligently work ANY homicide in hopes of solving the case.

There are countless issues of which determine whether or not a case is solved to include evidence, witness testimoney, and manpower.

There is one issue mentioned that brings a question to mind about the "witnesses" who are not always "best evidence."

People are unusual in that what one person perceives can be totally different from the others. It's like the game "telephone." You can tell one thing to the first person in line and before then end of the line...the story is completely different.

The Denver police have impounded a vehicle in connection with the shooting. The suspected vehicle is registered to Brian Hicks, a 28 year old Crips gang member, who was already incarcerated awaiting trial for attempted murder and drug charges. Other associates of Hicks are being questioned as potential material witnesses to the Williams shooting.

In such an event with a myriad of people standing around with one incident already occurring inside the nightclub nearby, there is little doubt that peoples minds were fogged by events of such a tragic level.

One other general thought, if a person kills an officer, it states CLEARLY that there is an indifference to killing let alone killing ANYBODY! Therefore, when one kills an officer, and harbors no morals or inhibitions, there is no consideration to killing other innocent men, women, or children. I'd want such an animal caught quickly as well.

This is exactly what happened to Mr Williams. He was in the path of an errant running bullet shot by a THUG who was indifferent to doing anything more than being a thug!

In other words....blame the thug not the police.

Well, duh, they knew who he was and that he was an illegal from Mexico. Therefore they could contact his hometown and alert the authorities that his grandmother lived down there.

On the other side, the cops don't know AT ALL who killed Darrent Williams. I'm not saying it's fair, it's just the facts.

That's sad.

Priority? And cooperation from the community?
