Sure, why not? You can do a beach themed wedding anywhere with decorations, invitations, etc.

Even better, take advantages of the beaches on the Great Lakes. Here's some sites to get you started:

Where in Ohio are you?

We have some wonderful bodies of water in this state that would allow you to hold a wedding, You'll just have to contact who owns it )state or county) to see if it's allowed. There's always the Great Lakes & I'm down here by the Ohio River. And there are many lakes in between where you could do your beach-themed wedding.
You could even do it on private property if you know someone with a large pond.

You can have any theme you want. I have a small wedding accessories business in the Dayton area. There are lots of Beach Theme Favors and accessories available. Its your money, just depends how far you want to take it. My site is small but I have hundreds of other items. I would be happy to help! http://abridalaffair.home.att.net

My freinds did a beach theme, and we are a looooooooooong time away from any ocean. Does your town or city have any man-made beaches or anything like that? even close by?
THe bride wore a very beach style gown, the wedding was in august, so nice and hot, the cake was covered in sea shells (i made it!) And it was very very nice, very beach party themed, so yuh, go for it! its all in how u accecorize rite?

Of course just check out the beaches and pick what one you like best. My best friend was going to get married on a beach and their entire wedding/reception was going to cost them about $6,000. They were going to go to a dance hall for the reception and have it catered. Unf. they broke up but it is possible to have a beach wedding in Ohio!!

The Lodge in geneva is a resort hotel on the lake and would be a nice spot for a wedding. It is in the wine growing region of Ohio so your guests would have something to do while at the resort.

That sounds like a great idea, you can do everything beachtheme but right in your own location. Just make sure to put extra detail into everything from invitations to centerpieces to decorations everything. How fun!! Congratulations.
