it needs to be a surprise first of all. Nothing else special about that day. NO HOLIDAYs. Maybe something as simple as sitting by a fire in the back yard asking her to get you a drink and when she comes back have the box sitting in her chair, tell her that you lost something and when she picks up the box, be all like, there it is. Take the box and ask her on one knee.
Or if you have a boat, go for an evening ride, watch the sun set, have a little wine possibly, and when she is totally surprised that you have packed that, tell her that is n't all.
Pull out the ring and go for it.
These are just ways that my boyfriend might purpose, if he were romantic at all.

I have been purposed to before, and it was totally awesome. The guy was dropping me off at the airport, I was leaving for a week to go home and see my family. He said he had something for me, and pulled it out of his pocket. I cried the entire flight. The stuartist asked if i was okay and i told her i just got engaged. She brought me wine, and told me congrats. IT was wonderful.

Maybe go for a swim together and tell her you found a treasure made just for her.

where did you first meet? how about there? or where is that special place to her that she loves, the back porch swing, at the beach, or maybe the first place you ever kissed or saw each other. Find that one true place that is special to both of you, okay well maybe just her.

THe take her out to dinner is over done, that is how every guy does it.... not to say it sucks, just it's been done, if you want her to not be able to stop talking about it, well it wont' matter where you do it , she will be so happy.

if you are simple people, get up early make her favorite breakfast, and serve it to her in bed. Sit and talk, and when you can't hold it in any longer, then ask.
Ring in food, just gets it dirty, and she is going to want to show everyone right away.

Deep down i wish it was my boyfriend asking this question, but he is not ready for this step. She is lucky that you want to make this so special you are asking for ideas.

Good Luck.

It does depend on the woman. For me, I wanted it to be in front of everybody. Not like I was going to say no, and he knew that, so why not? Or away on vacation. Turns out, he did it at a restaurant we had never been to (but had planned on going for a while), just the two of us. It was perfect. (As it will be when you propose, don't worry) I actually liked it better because we were able to have that "quiet time" together, rather than around family and friends who would have no doubt been thrilled and asking a million questions. We wouldn't have been able to share the eye contact we held through the rest of the night. I'm also glad he didn't do it on vacation, 'cause when we left that restaurant we drove around for most of the night, telling everyone. Wouldn't have been able to do that if we were away. His brother did it that way (on vacation) and his brother's now-wife said it wasn't all that great, because throughout the week her family was calling, and she couldn't say anything even though she wanted to. Just some things to consider....

I had my ideal proposal a few months ago and not just because I love my man, I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT CHANGE A THING ABOUT IT! We live near Niagara Falls and used to go there all the time before we could drink legally in the US. He planned a surprise, romantic weekend which involved a Sabres game, a spa package for me and dinner at the best restaurant in the area. He proposed in our suite overlooking the falls (it was basically a hurricane that night so he couldn't do it at the falls) Everything was perfect and we even extended our weekend until Monday because we couldn't stand to have to face reality on Sunday.

Honestly, its not about destination, not for me anyways. My husband proposed right here were we live and its amazing because everytime I pass by that place I remember it like it was yesterday.

Be romantic. I dont know if you have ever seen the episode of friends when Monica proposes to Chandler, now that was romantic. I would have loved something like that.

The proposal is right around minute 2.

This is so romantic and this is what I would always picture my proposal to be like. Be romantic, me extremely romantic. everything you think is Cliche about romantisism, do that. all of it, the rose pedals, the candles, the soft music, all that sappy romantic stuff that's what we want. All of it.

Depends on the woman. Some like to travel so I would think Rome or Greece would be awesome. If you like to cuddle at home then that would be the place to do it. Tell her to go take a shower or bath to relax and put flowers and candles all over the room and you change into a tux...you have to really know your lady to get it right. If she likes to be the center of attention then do it at a Movie Theater. Work out something with the manager to put a slide up before a (hopefully) sold out show.

hi'
some people would think that the place where you first meet is romantic, or the place you first realized that you were in love with each other, then there are those that feel that the over the top places are the best place to propose but we are not all the Tomcat types.

My fiance proposed to me on a hike. We walked up to the top of the park, where the view overlooked the city and asked me to marry him.

Everyone is different, but what was sweet about it was that he didn't plan it out, but he carried the ring around with him for a week waiting for the perfect moment. That's what made so special and so right.

Do you two have any special places? Where you had your first date, a place you both enjoy going to and feel at peace there ...

If you have any places like that, I'd suggest go for there as it would mean something to both of you.

If not ... maybe just take her to a nice restaurant? Go for a romantic walk somewhere if you can (park, beach)?

Good luck.

Venice is known that it's really romantic so prposing to her there is a good idea. Trust me she'll love it. But u have to be in a place where she can see the water and the boats.
