Starbucks uses Arabica beans. The coffee you buy may not be. Also the beans from Starbucks are from different regions of the world and they all have different flavors and acidity levels. Like a fine wine, the coffee's from starbucks are all unique and can be paired with different foods. Some of their blends are better as iced coffee, some are better in the evening and some are best in the morning. That is why they offer so many different blends and use espresso beans in their bar drinks. The people at Starbucks try to educate their employees to teach the public this, so you can enjoy their coffee more.

Starbucks is a nice treat every now and then but the cost can add up quick!!! For instance I used to buy a venti white mocha with an extra shot every day except for on weekends. At 5 bucks a day it was costing me 100 bucks a month!!! Try buying a coffee grinder, a quality coffee maker, and an expensive, high quality bag of coffee beans (like Starbucks)and grind them yourself. I think that you will find that this coffee can compete with the stuff at Starbucks! Only difference??? You will save a fortune!!!! :)

Brewing temperature is huge deal when making coffee. most home machines don't really heat the water before it hits the grounds causing the oil of the coffee to stay in the grounds. The oil is what gives the coffee it's flavour( flavoured coffee just has flavour oil added.) So places like Starbucks have really good machines that heat the water in under a min. It should be above boiling point before it hits the grounds.

I LOVE my own coffee. Starbucks has a bitter after taste, far too expensive and the poor people who work there are treated like crap by customers. Nothing that's made there can't be reproduced by me or anyone who wants to take a few minutes to learn and implement. I use a an old fashioned peculator for normal days and high test I have a cheap espresso, and any fool can heat milk. I prefer lobster, steak and travel to giving my hard earned money away.

My homemade coffee is cheaper and I also figured out a way to make the sugar free hazelnut latte at home so no need to stop at Starbucks.

Starbucks is expensive and the coffee is too strong and it's gross. We make our
own coffee at home. We have beans in the freezer and when ground, it releases
the most amazingly wonderful smelling aroma. It's cheaper at home. I had
Starbucks coffee one time too many. Now we have one in town here and not
many people like it.

The difference is the flavoring. Starbucks has many different varieties for flavor and you get so many flavors for the homemade coffee's these days.

Starbucks coffee comes in a paper cup, costs a day's wages, and is never called "coffee" - it's a mochaccino or a frappuccino or some other inane title.
