He was found guilty in the time of the Roman Pilate, and sent to be crucified. He was passed a drug on a sponge during the crucifiction, and did NOT respond when a spear was thrust into His side. So, He was taken down earlier, from the cross, and placed in Aramathea's Tomb, to be later revived and continued to live to the age of about 52. We was neither assasinated nor executed. The church under Paul ran with this tale to promote THEIR church of Rome.
The original church of Jeruselem still exists! The Essenes who raised Jesus and His mother Mary, still operate a church today.

He was executed as a criminal, but was just guilty of being too much for the Romans to handle. It was prophecy, it was going to happen anyway.

Neither. Man could not kill Jesus. He said that no man takes His life from Him, but he willingly lays down His life for us. He went to the cross and died willingly, He was not killed or executed. At any time He could have called on legions of angels and delivered Him from the cross, but because God wanted Him to do what He did, He did it.
You read in the gospel accounts that many times, mobs of people tried to kill him, but it says that He just walked away from them, unharmed. He would say that it was not yet His time.

Neither. He was executed AS a criminal, but his only crime was to piss off the Jewish leaders of the time.

To the Jewish authorities, He was a criminal. To his disciples and those who know that He had committed no criminal offense, it was assassination. But in God's purpose and in fulfilment of prophesy, He was playing out a divine Counsel..

I guess if you were to think about assassinations in general..because he is/was a revered spiritual leader as was Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr. etc. it counts as an assassination.
Just my thought, though....good day to ya!
