I live in the Diplomatic Quarter and there are apartments available there for 30,000, but the DQ is not a compound, it is gated with security, but you don't have public swimming pools, bars and activities that are typical of compounds. There are sports club that you have to buy a membership to and restaraunts.

Well, not real "village compounds" in this price range, but rather small housing complexes, unfurnished, in the Olaya, Suleymaniah and downtown areas. Real village compounds goes from 55,000 SR (single bedroom) up to 130,000 SR and more.
