I have a yorkie puppy. Her name (which we call her) is Joanie Sue. The meaning behind the name Joanie Sue is God's Gracious Lily. She doesn't have a name for her akc papers yet.
Any ideas??

How About - God's Gracious Soliloquy??
Or, Gracious Flower From The Heavens
Or, Lilly of the Gracious Valley
or, Graciou-Sue Lily Joan

Lol, I dunno. lol The word soliloquy kinda wracked my brain. It's a mix of Sue and lily, and is just a cool sounding word which could hold much meaning depending on her attitude. lol

Of Course, if you HAD to have a breeder name, it could be added on nicely. lol

Good luck with that!
;o)

Maybe your last name or you first name and then God Gracious Lily.
All of our weims start out with TLC's and then the name.
One of my friends who is a breeder uses her kennel name Ronod's and then the dogs name.
The call name which you will use sometimes has nothing at all to do with the papered name,
Make sure the papered name is unusual other wise you will get your papers back and the dog will have a number after it's name. As many are named the same thing.

How about Joanie's Delight or Lily's Joy? Simple yet lyrical.

It is customary to use the kennel name of the mother (if the mother has one). For instance the dog in my avatar was out of "Raindancer's Lonesome Dove" . Since that is a registered kennel name in Canada, it was mandatory that the word Raindancer would be part of her name. If you send in the registration form without the kennel name the Canadian Kennel Club will simply add it on.
So the dog in my avatar is "Randancers Chasin A Dream" , her call name is "Meg" (short for Meg-a-bucks).
So, if your dog was out of mine,,,, I would name her something like "Randancers Gracious Lily" Call name "Joanie Sue".

See how it works???
The reason to do this is because it makes tracing blood lines a hundred times easier. (always traces the bltch line)

Gods Gracious Lily has a good ring to it- Her breeder may wish the kennel name first of course. and the relationship between the fancy reg name & the call neme need not be apparent - in fact there doesn't have to BE one
Check if the breeder has a name theme for the litter... (He may want all movie titles, beatles songs ect.)

When naming my registered dogs..I usually incorporate previous champion names into the official registrar name..for instance..
The father's name is "Lord Barney of White Diamonds"
and the mother's name is "Gracious Lily's In Red"( totally made up).....but I call my puppy something like "Susie"...so I might name the dog something like "Lady Susan wears Red Diamonds"...........
My call name for my Aussie's years ago were "Mahogany"..because they were a dark red in the Merle's and tri colors..so..my founding female was called "Mahogany's Cinnamon and Spice"...everything began with Mahogany...so..do you kind of get the idea?? Find out what the parents registered names are..and go from there! Have fun!
