I'd cry too if I had a parent like you. Sounds like you need mental help.

Don't do anything. Let him handle this one on his own. So what if he cries? He's showing emotions and it doesn't show weakness. Now for him to spend that kind of money on someone so soon at his age is startling, but it was a lesson he's learned. If you put him down for crying or yelling, it will later on make him feel mean. They're be other dates and the more he dates and gets older, the better he can handle rejection. Some don't handle that well. Period.

You walked into the bathroom while an 18 year old young man was in there! You're rude inconsiderate and nothing we could say would help.

The time for spankings (given that there ever was one) is over however the time for you to learn to mind your own business is here and now.

Your child is trying to grow up and you might want to try the same.

First, of all you did raise this young person. You must give him the tools he needs to cope in the world. Sometimes, when parents are very strong this inhibits a child and they devlop the opposite defense mechanisms. For example: overly aggressive parents can have overly passive children. Your thought process implies to me that you think he is weak. If you want your child to demonstarte strong attributes then model this behavior for him. Remember being aggressive does not make you strong. Find ways to show your son his value and self-respect so he can inturn show this to others and be treated accordingly. Good luck!

Why is it so bad that you caught your son crying? Is he not allowed to have feelings? And why would you spank him? hes 18 for **** sake!I think you should take a look at your parenting skills, they leave alot to be desired.Hes had his heart broken and all you want to do is persicute him for it. You should be comfoting him and being there for him...your his parent, give him the support he needs and dont be so hard on him.

Crying over a girl happens at one time or another when you are a guy (unless you are really lucky). But if your son only dated this girl one day, and blew 4 hundo, he is a complete chump-***, and needs to be learned not to be a sucker to girl you just met.

"Spank him for crying" eh - my parents stopped spanking me when I was 7 or 8. Now to say something constructive sounds like you don’t want your son to have a girlfriend cause you’d worry too much – gosh I thought your were going to say he was masturbating or something like that! If that were the case maybe you’d let him lead his own life.

this has got to be a joke, or you are a total @sshole. What gives you the right to hit anyone, let alone a child. If I had you for a parent, with your uncaring attitude, I would weep openly until I had not tears left to cry, then I would throw myself under a moving mack truck. You should be ashamed
