I met a guy (set up by friends) and we hit it off. We've actually only spoken via email and phone but we have alot in common and get along really well so far.
I mentioned that I really love this one restaurant (that is pretty expensive).
ANyhow yesterday he asked me out for an official date this weekend and said that since i had mentioned this place I piqued his interest and he had gone to look at the online menus and wanted to go there with me.

So he suggested the date, the place, wants to make the reservation, and saw the menu (which has the prices)...do I offer to pay half or is this insulting to guys on a first date?

Well, it's very nice of you to offer, I suggest offering for the tip or part of it, you know? It shows manners and that you are glad to be with him etc and since it's a nice restuarant, helping share the tip is a nice gesture. Let me know how it goes!!!

No,,,he asked you to go with him on a date and it is his responsibility to pay for it unless you agreed from the start to split it.

its not insulting to me --- i just would not accept it --- i may be old fashioned --- i like to pay for the date ---- and the money is truly not important --- its who i am with that is important
