Let me get this straight, to have blind faith I just have to blindly believe that there is a god or a buddha, or as I'm sure many will say "accept Christ as my savior" ....right?

I can't have blind faith that my bills will miraculously be paid, so why should I let blind faith control my soul?

Just put your brain in park, go to church and believe what you're told.

Personally it has to be a ghastly way to live.

Blind faith, how does it work? Well it doesn't, never has and never will. The Bible does not talk about blind faith. Blind faith is found only in Websters Dictionary and the minds of the spiritually blind.

Don't give up on this answer. Belief and faith are both human abilities that work if you know how to use them. You are always making use of belief but may not apply it properly, or see how it relates to make faith work; or why the two words are so often used as synonyms.

To answer your question you must understand that faith and belief are two entirely different things. They can be defined separately but are often used as synonyms because one does not function without the other, except one way. The exception is that belief can function without faith but faith cannot function without belief.

People will not be lost one day; they are lost now. in the maze of desires generating from their own hearts, the maze of thoughts kicking around in their own heads, information glut from others, and just our pace of life. And, believe it or not, we have a spiritual enemy that sows deception in every human mind. So, if you every saw the movie or read the book, this is our Matrix. The Bible is the call out book and real faith is only out.

Belief is simply your decision to consider any idea to the extent that you are willing to act on it. Belief is a mental position or relationship to an idea or concept like God. It is not a committment but more like a position of favorable consideration.

In Scripture that is all that God asks. See Hebrews 11. He that comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. This isn't anything more than some man or woman would do in relation to one they "might" want to marry. "I think he or she has potential and I'm willing to check it out."

The definition of belief is: Any idea or concept that one is willing to act upon.

Faith goes a step further. The only dictionary word that is anywhere close to a synonym for faith is trust.
Hebrews says. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Note later on that people of faith were said to live "as seeing." This as seeing is very important. This implies that there is something to look at or a special way of seeing. Work on the belief, if you have a question just ask.

A generation ago, a famous preacher said faith was necessary to catch a bus. You go down to the bus stop and wait, expecting the bus will arrive. I can relate to that for belief but not for faith. His example is a good example of belief.

Faith is when you go down to a corner, where there is no bus stop, and the bus arrives. That is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. And by the way, I still have to put up with the curse of work, but I pay many of my bills by faith and always seem to have cash on hand.

Got to run. Sorry to be so long, but I attempted to summarize 50 years for you; and got a computer bug and speel check is not working. lol

Okay, you know how children will believe anything you tell them when their at a certain age? Well, basically they don't know any better, and you call THAT "blind faith". They don't know when they'll get fed, or get new clothes if the ones they have are in bad shape, but they know they'll get something to eat, or new clothes. It's not that they brain is 'in park', thats just how it works, and ya know what? It works for them. They have no problem with that, and once people reach a certain age they stop having their child-like faith. I don't see anything wrong with having faith like a child. I would think that faith, faith in ANYTHING is a good thing. Having faith that your child will get home safely from school, having faith that you'll make it to the grocery store without someone moron hitting you. Just anything, really.
So, in answer to your question, I guess the answer is having faith, or believing like a child.

You don't actually "believe in" the Buddha. I'm actually thinking belief isn't important to Hinduism, either. Belief is a major part of Christianity but that's not my bailiwick.

Belief does nothing. It can't pay the bills, it can't drop the kids off at school, you are right.

Faith in the world and faith in God are two different things. In the world you need to exert yourself to get things done, whereas in spirituality, you have to repose faith in God and leave everything to Him to solve. Here you need not exert. Simply leave everything to Him. It is not blind faith. It is the Real faith. Blind faith is the one which we repose on the world and the people in the world. I hope you follow. nagarajan.

Well in a way you have "blind faith" everyday.

Example:

You are ready to go to work.
You grab the keys to your vehicle.
You leave your house.
You enter your vehicle.
You insert your ignition key into the ignition.
You turn the key.
The vehicle starts.
That is blind faith!

When the vehicle "fails" to start, what happens
to your "blind faith" then?

Blind Faith = God never Fails!

Cheers!

From the way it has been explained to me , Taking said leap of faith in God(s) Leads to Knowledge of said God(s) and then becomes Truth not Faith.

Makes me wonder why they focus so much attention on children.

It is your choice. To believe of not. if you do not then you will not recieve the Graces of faith.

We must live, yes, which means we must work, because there will be bills to be paid. What we must work on is releasing ourselves from the products of the world. Rid yourself of the unneccessary.

You must be willing to give of yourself to faith. Once you do you will see what you have blinded yourself to.

Well you've got a good point there. And that's it. Just go with that and your life will be just fine because you'll work for what you have like it's supposed to be rather than expect it all to be given if you pray. You go girl, you've discovered the truth.
