Did Darwin come up with the theory of evolution through natural selection because he wanted to thwart religions?

Let's see... demonstrable, provable, observable, testable recorded knowledge... Yeah that certainly over-rules blind faith and ignorance.

And since most of the bible is wrong, scientifically, historically, and within itself, it follows that any actual knowledge of reality would be contrary to what the bible says.

The bible was written by people in mud huts, and it says that the Earth is flat, that it's fixed and immovable (the sun moves through the heavens), and so on. It also mentions Unicorns and other mythical creatures as being real. Clearly reality must be an attack on those delusional enough to believe such foolishness.

Yep. In many cases, that is true. But not all, since there are Christian scientists.
