Why are there so many atheists in the religion & spirituality forum?
That tells me they love to preach just as much as anyone else.

I never said I have a problem. I like it that atheist are in this site. I'm just saying they like to preach just as much as everyone else. That is my point.
That is all I'm saying. Hey atheists, preaching is welcome hear from everyone. It is an open forum. Just be aware, christians aren't the only ones preaching. Carry on to all.

Malcolm Knoxville,
Preaching is not always a "christian" term. It means to convey what you believe. Now matter what it is. It means to urge acceptance or abandonment of an idea or course of action, no matter what the idea is. It does not have to include a higher power.

Apparently your logic is flawed then... I never preach... I just answer questions, usually within the scope of info of the question asked when it's a specific religion question in a specific religious category like Islam, Catholicism or somesuch. I DO have an education in religions, so I am qualified to try to help other people out and I usually do it w/o bias, even if I don't agree with the philosophy, so try not to paint with such a broad brush. While I personally don't care what you call me... you're being rather unkind to others.

Preaching to others is the natural human tendency. No one would lose any opportunity to preach others into his/her belief. Knowledge is for people to pick up by their own efforts. Those who preach think that they know and others do not know. This is a common disease across theists and atheists.

Certainly there are "fundamentalist" atheists -- so convinced that their way is the right way that they won't "listen" to anyone else. They just spout what one "should" believe without explaining why. Anyone who is that absolutist that s/he refuses to reason has lost perspective. I've met a few "fundie atheists." Once identified, I think it's better to humor them with innocuous questions rather than try to reason with them. Like any fundamentalist.

I cant see a notice that says "No Atheists" anywhere can you? If you've got a problem with atheists being on here maybe you should go on a specifically religious site then.

I come in to help dispel common misconceptions about atheists and even other religions. There are an amazing number of half-truths and out right lies posted here every day.

Some people like to argue, and Yahoo Answers is a good place to argue without actually confronting anyone.

Personally it is because I'm feeling ornery today and have too many meetings today to really get anything done between them.
