More exploration and mining. I also think there should be less publicly held land.

If an environmental group wants to protect a piece of land, they should be allowed to buy and maintain it. If an industry group wants to exploit the resources of a piece of land, they should buy and exploit (with regulations in place, of course). If they both want the land, it goes to the highest bidder.

Less -- at least until the government makes the mining companies fairly compensate the people for the resource.

There should be more but it must be regulated to ensure responsible efforts are made to keep the natural world as pristine as possible. Our country was built on our using our natural resources. That is a reason why we are a super power.

If it means energy independence then we should pursue it as it will bring jobs and less reliance on unstable countries for energy.
