The gnats are not harmful to anyone. However, the fungus in the air that your son is breathing in could be harmful if not fatal! If you want to get rid of these gnats then you need to air out your bathroom and make sure everything is bleached so that all fungus and germs are killed. Clean thoroughly like this at least once a week and you will notice that the gnats have disappeared! As a mother with two daughters that have asthma, Do this quickly! Good luck!

With care. They are living creatures too, even if they cause you some discomfort ( and perhaps for good reason if they can, because of their very existence, give your son asthma. )
Perhaps the gnat, you and I have something important in common. We are seeking a safe place to build a family. The gnats can't be right all the time so place an empty bottle over them - it's quite safe - and escort them outside your house to the garden where you might any uninvited guest that is not
necessarily dangerous. Allow them the dignity that gnats deserve in a world where we really need gnats in our biodiversity. They are fellow earth mates.
