There is a redish blackish 3/4" growth type thing hanging down from our newly turned 6 year old Boxer dog's stomach. Could it be cancer?! :(

It definitely isn't a tick. It is 3/4" long, and slightly thin. It's like an elongated nipple, should you not mind the detailed description. I don't really know hpw to describe it... and I don't expect you to correctly diagnose it, but maybe you could, you know, try. And some of you might be nurses or vets or have animals that have experienced it - I don't think it was too unreasonable.

I dont want to scare you, but YES. Take him to your veterinarian, where they will take some cells with a needle and look at them under a microscope-that is the only way to tell, as some cancers and benign tumors look the same. Boxers also have increased risk of developing Mast Cell tumors (which can be very aggressive), early removal is your best bet. Also, dont squeeze the mass, if it is a Mast Cell tumor, you could cause histamine release by squeezing it (which would cause anaphylaxis).
Skin cancer in dogs is NOT 100% curable! Human disease of the skin and cancers are VERY DIFFERENT in behvior and appearance than those of dogs and cats. HUMAN MEDICINE DOES NOT ALWAYS APPLY TO VETERINARY MEDICINE. enough said.

Look kind of like a grape made of flesh? Pretty common, but may have to be removed. Generally if it's not bothering the dog, don't have it removed unless a needle biopsy (vet draws a bit of fluid from the inside of it for analysis) indicates it should be. Otherwise, leave it alone. Surgery can cause fecal incontinence, only do the surgery if there is an issue with the growth. This isn't a panic sort of situation.

I'm sitting here right now, waiting for word from my vet. My 5 yr old Boston Terrier has two Mast Cell growths being removed right now. Mast cell tumors are the "great pretender". Boxers are liable to get this type of cancer--as are Bostons. Her swelling kind of came and went and I'm afraid I waited too long. I feel like a neglectful parent. Take your dog to the vet ASAP.

Could be a tumor. Go have it checked out. Untreated, they can become enormous and very uncomfortable to your dog even causing death.

ADDED: If it is long in shape and dark grey to black, it could be a skin tag. Keep an eye on it, if it keeps growing get to the vet. At any rate, if it is worrying you, consult the vet.

very unlikely as cancer would usually be a solid mass ,unless it is a skin cancer in which case 100% curable but is probably a wart or something like that,it isnt a tic is it?

We would not know. We are not vets and even if we were, we would not be able to diagnose anything on the Internet. Take her to the vet.

My dog has had cancer and it was very firm and had hair on it. It grew steadily and thankfully it was removed. Older dogs get fat lumps too so if it is squishy then maybe it is just fat.
