if the motor goes but not the drum, then the belt has either snapped or jumped off. If you can turn the drum by hand (drain and open door!) then this confirms drum is not jammed.
Turn it off at the wall.
Pull it out,
unscrew cover, should be easy to find.
many places sell belts, hardware store and the like.
It is unlikely to be a motor problem, unless you have been doing 2-3 loads a day for over a year. (warranties always out last the machine, even with heavy use)
It is less than 20 washes old it could be loose connection, but these show up very quickly because vibration wobbles then loose quickly.
EXTRA - The drum WILL turn if the belt has snapped or is function correctly, it will only not move if it has jammed (not much chance in newer machines). Timers/Programmers rarely fail before other components wear out.

If the wash has not started at all, it will be the fault of the belt. It is broken and you should replace it. Not too difficult. Open the back of the machine and take out the broken belt, go to a washing machine shop and buy a new one (the identifying number will be printed on the back of the belt. You can even order it from Internet sales).
If however, the wash cycle has started and spin is not happening, then it is not the belt but more serious.
Most likely cause would be that the water pump which takes the water out of the machine to the drain is broken. Or the outlet hose is blocked and unable to let the water out. Check that the output is at a correct height from the machine to the drain. This will be shown in a diagram in the instruction book.
It could be something stuck in the drum. It could be the timer is not operating properly. It could be a bad clutch. If it is an old machine (i.e. older than a 10 years) and you are not a handy man, you should get a new one rather than getting it repaired as repairs might cost you near enough he cost of a new one ( you can get good washing machines less than £200. I hope this was helpful.

Does it wash? If the drum does not turn it is either the motor or the belt. The most usual motor trouble is worn brushes. If however the machine washes normally and empties between rinses there is the possibility that the programmer is at fault. You can usually check this by using a completely different programme to normal for example wool and see if it spins then. Otherwise call in the man.

check filter if it has one, check water is clearing the tub, (either pump or filter) pressure stat blocked or could be motor brush's or motor itself, failing all these either speed control module or timer unit. other than that the obvious thing is the belt has gone, but they don't normally go unless something has cause it to go, like drum bearings. I think you need an engineer to diagnose the problem

Quite a problem. At least it is windy so you can dry the clothes. Suggest you call in an expert to see what has happened. Odd if washing OK.

if it`s going through it`s cycle but the drum is`nt moving then the brushes in the motor have gone, but if it`s just not going through it`s spin cycle the timer has gone. brushes £30/40, timer£100/110.

If too much laundry is on one side of it the spinning will stop because it will be out of balance and bang. If that doesn't help, call a repairman.
