I really saw this question in someone's details "isn't a man convinced against his will stil of the same opinion as you". Please forgive my lack of computer skills. I am a construction worker between jobs and this is only a hobby to me. I don't have a clue how to post a link. His question was something like

"Isn't it better to be a fundie than a big fussy?"

What? I am i the only Christian that sees a problem in the logic of that particular post? I sure hope not.

Seal I checked, it was definitely a different question. I sure was I was a computer geek and not a dumb carpenter sometimes.

I am not quite sure of what you are asking, but I'll give it a go.

No, I would say that it is a contradiction. If it is against our will, then it is coersion, and that is not the same as a deep rooted faith in our beliefs. Being convinced of something comes when we have enough knowledge to make an informed decision about it.

Just like the Bible verse at John 17: 3: says..."This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."

or Proverbs 2: 1-5: "My son, if you will receive my sayings and treasure up my own commandments with yourself, 2 so as to pay attention to wisdom with your ear, that you may incline your heart to discernment; 3 if, moreover, you call out for understanding itself and you give forth your voice for discernment itself, 4 if you keep seeking for it as for silver, and as for hid treasures you keep searching for it, 5 in that case you will understand the fear of Jehovah, and you will find the very knowledge of God."

Without research and study, I would be crazy to believe something because someone just tried to convince me!

1 John 4: 1: "Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world"

I don't think you're alone.

While Jesus did define his people as whoever believed in him, he also made it real clear that not everyone who believed in him was a worthwhile human being- so there are going to be good people who are Christians and CRAPPY people who are Christians.

Me, I'm not a Christian, but I'm all for the good people who are good people, personally.

Oh, and links on Y!A are supereasy- just cut and paste the link it the browser bar and it makes a link.

I asked a question similar to this one. But I directed it towards Christians. Anyway the point I was trying to get across was that if something is done in a half hearted way then it's meaningless.

No person may be hypnotised to do something against their will. Therefore, no person can be convinced unless they wish to be convinced.
(See my source below, and READ this book for many many EXCITING answers of this type!)

To 'link' to another site, you must go to the site you wish to send someone to,....'click' on the address (in the address BOX) then under "EDIT" in your top menu bar,...find "COPY" and 'click' on it also. This will place the address of your interested site into your COPY BOOK.
Now, go to where you wish to 'type' this site to whomever you are sending it too, or, simply 'click' on the page you are writing, and then under "EDIT" find "PASTE" and 'click' on it,...the address will then appear on the page you wish it too! It will also be a 'clickable' key to send someone to the interested page!
