NO... that certainly is not what being a real Christian means.
Being a real Christian means that once you have accepted Christ you will make a sincere effort to build on that realtionship with Him.
You will make efforts to be set apart.
You will make efforts to sin less.
You will make efforts to be who He has called you to be.
You will pray that your faith will be increased.
You will have compassion or pray to be more compassionate.
You will try...
Who ever said that you had to be perfect? We are all sinners saved by His grace.

I dont like the term Christian it is to broad in todays society. Its a title now. I just say that I have a relationship with Christ. That seperates me from those claiming to be a Christian but have no idea what that means. I will make mistakes for the rest of my life and as far as hard times............I will be persecuted til the day the Lord takes me or am Raptured. The difference between myself and a non believer...........Im forgiven. Perfection is not for us in this world. Amen and Peace out.....................

Being a Christian means that everything will be twice as hard. If it were easy it wouldn't be worth the effort. Fortunately God in all of his wonderful wisdom knows that we are merely human. He gave his SON for us. A friend of mine sent me an email that told the story about a man who was spoken to by the Lord. The Lord told this man to push against a rock that was in his front yard. The man did this but never managed to move this rock EVER. He got discouraged. Satan came to the man & said we'll if your not moving it anyway just put half effort into it. The man decided to pray about it instead. The Lord answered him and told him. "I said to push against it, not move it and that's exactly what you have done. Your muscles are toned, your skin is brown from the sun, and you are healthy." So as a Christian you have to P.U.S.H. P=Pray
U=Until
S=Something
H=Happens

A 'real Christian' is someone who not only believes and hopes, but who hopes and takes action to follow and become like the Savior Jesus Christ!
Faith--hope and action.
That doesn't mean you're perfect, that means your effort is steady and mighty.

in the church i go to, they believe in holiness... they believe that once you're saved AND sanctified holy, you achieve perfection. if you sin, you have to be saved and sanctified all over again. i do not agree with any of that however, because Jesus was the only perfect being to ever walk this earth, and there will never be another perfect being EVER. if you came to my church you would see that EVERYONE who claims to be saved and sanctified holy is extremely overweight (gluttony's a sin- right?), and most of them have told me that i don't have a relationship with Christ and i'm going to hell based on the fact that i wear pants, shorts, short sleeves, makeup, jewelry, and have a tv in my home (isn't that being judgemental? isn't that a sin too?)... i need to find a new church... but amen to you... for ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Amen!
Being a Christian is one of the hardest things we will ever be. The Christian walk is a tough one. God told us that we would be faced with trials and tribulations and that as Christians we are sure to face persecution. But the joy is in the fact that God is always right there with us!! He helps us to get through those times, and those times strengthen our relationship with Him.
Thank you Jesus!

You're right. There is no such thing as a perfect human being, we all falter from time to time. God knows human beings can be weak, each an every one of us. We have to try to be the best human being that we can be and follow Jesus' example.

Amen!! We were given the perfect example in Jesus but we can never live up to His perfect life. That should not stop us from trying.

Well said! Many people have "religious experiences," in the false hopes that God is gonna make everything ok...well one day he is going to, but as long as we are in the flesh we are going to struggle, spirit vs. flesh, and we are going to live a life full of persecution and seperation from people still caught up in the world. Jesus said, "pick up your cross, DENY yourself, and follow me..."

Praise the Lord! I am glad someone said this I It is really hard to hear our faith questioned and abused daily. We know we are not perfect, God tells us so. However, we try.
